The Summer Blue version of the Seamaster 300 is defined less by a new case shape than by a change in atmosphere. The blue treatment was created to give the anniversary family a recognisable visual identity, so a replica has to reproduce colour, depth and contrast rather than simply copy the outline of the watch.

The first test is colour depth. The dial should change with light rather than present a flat block of blue. The centre, outer dial and bezel need to relate to one another, while the luminous markers remain clearly separated from the background. A replica can choose a similar shade and still miss the effect if the surface is too flat or too glossy.
The second test is the caseback. Anniversary designs often use relief work and decorative motifs. Those details are difficult to reproduce because small differences in depth can make the design look soft. Clear engraving does not improve timekeeping, but it shows whether the rear of the watch was treated as seriously as the front. Lettering should remain sharp around curves, and raised motifs should not merge into the surrounding surface when viewed at an angle.
The third test is the steel work. With a vivid dial, the bracelet and case provide visual stability. End-link fit, brushing and clasp geometry therefore matter. A loose bracelet can make the entire watch feel less considered even when the blue dial is convincing. The case should also keep the Seamaster 300’s balanced profile rather than becoming excessively thick around the caseback or bezel.
The fourth test is restraint. The earlier version of this article relied on absolute factory claims. A more useful comparison is based on the gradient colour, bezel-to-dial relationship, caseback relief and bracelet finishing. Those can be examined directly.
The fifth test is movement presentation. The absence of a date on this version affects how the movement and crown are expected to behave. Decorative plates can imitate the appearance of an Omega calibre, but exterior accuracy and mechanical architecture should be discussed as separate questions.
More examples can be found in our Seamaster replica articles. Ibis Watches sees the Summer Blue model as a colour and finishing exercise: the watch is convincing when the blue has depth, the caseback remains crisp and the steel elements provide a controlled frame.
